Share a View or a Pin
You can send anyone a link that opens the web map exactly where you're looking, or one that drops a pin on a particular spot.
Share what you're looking at
- Click Share in the panel at the top right of the web map.
- Pick a Link type (see below). Internal map link is already selected.
- Click Copy to clipboard, then paste the link into an email, text or chat.
The link opens the map at the same spot and zoom, with the same basemap and the same layers turned on.
Share a pin on one spot
- Desktop: hold Ctrl (or ⌘ on a Mac) and click the spot.
- Phone or tablet: press and hold on the spot.
The same Share window opens, titled Share pin. An internal map link made this way also shows a marker on that exact spot when it's opened.
Link types
| Link type | What the recipient gets |
|---|---|
| Internal map link (default) | This atlas's web map, at your view, basemap and layers |
| Google Maps link | The spot in Google Maps — handy for driving directions |
| JSON coordinates | Plain latitude and longitude, for pasting into other tools |
If the copy doesn't work
Some browsers (especially on phones) block copying. The link is shown in the Share window and is selected for you — copy it from there by hand.
